Community Involvement

We value strong relationships within the communities we serve, both at a corporate and an affiliate level. As part of our commitment to stewardship, our company and our staff gives back through community involvement, fundraising, volunteerism, and donations.

Annual Harvest Run

Our annual Harvest Run fundraiser supports nursing education. The event, in partnership with Berkshire Community College, brings affiliates together in friendly competition and raises thousands each year for nursing program scholarships. In addition to a trail run and kids’ fun run, the Harvest Run includes a free cook-off enjoyed by runners and spectators alike.

Stepping Stone Program

Our Stepping Stone program is part of our commitment to developing a quality workforce able to achieve high standards of excellence and meet community needs. Originally developed in response to a critical nursing shortage, Stepping Stone covers tuition and education-related expenses for a CNA, LPN, RN, or BSN program at a local state college or a comparable amount at a private institution. Eligible Integritus Healthcare employees accepted into the Stepping Stone program can advance their nursing education while remaining employed and retaining their health benefits. Covered expenses include tuition, fees, books, lab fees, review programs, and education-related uniform expenses, as well as any necessary prerequisite courses.

Affiliate Connections

Integritus affiliate staff, residents and family members join together throughout the year donating their time and talent to make a difference.

Participating affiliates form teams for the Alzheimer’s Association’s annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s, spending months raising funds before walking as a team with family and friends. Staff get involved at local senior centers, providing ice cream socials, country breakfasts, free informational presentations, and community Bingo.

Integritus affiliates support a variety of municipal and community organizations such as the local firefighters unions and police departments, the Jimmy Fund, Toys for Tots, United Cerebral Palsy, animal shelters, veterans’ programs, Providence Ministries for the Needy, Kiwanis Club, Meals on Wheels, councils on aging, boosters, rotary, Little League teams, and the VFW. One affiliate recently held a toy drive to benefit the pediatric program at a local hospital.

Affiliates also partner with local nursing schools to provide practical experience as part of the students’ training.

Resident Participation

We strive to help our residents remain connected with the community, through intergenerational programming, outings to local events, and volunteer opportunities.

Some of our assisted living residents volunteer at a local food pantry throughout the year and held a canned food drive during the holidays. Day care classes and school children visit many of our affiliates for intergenerational activities such as story time, crafts, sing-alongs, and holiday celebrations. A weekly knitting club contributes blankets to a local hospital. Residents enjoy outings to local landmarks, restaurants, senior centers, and even Bingo.
